Activités détaillées

Saft supplies primarily nickel-based batteries to railway and mass transit operators as well as train manufacturers for backup power, communication, lighting, air-conditioning and on-board communication as well as for critical safety applications such as emergency braking and for door opening systems. The replacement and refurbishment of rolling stock as well as investments in mass transport systems drive growth in this market.

Saft has developed four nickel based ranges of advanced batteries: MRX, MSX, SRX and SRM and fully integrated on-board battery systems customized to meet the requirements of OEMs. More recently, Saft launched exceptionally high power Ion-OnBoard® Li-ion battery system to capture, store and reuse regenerative braking energy in hybrid and autonomous catenary-free rolling stock traction applications.
